Where the mods actually are
The main hub is the Fields of Mistria page on Nexus Mods, which hosts the mod files, their install instructions and their comment threads.

Install instructions differ per mod and change as the game patches. We deliberately do not reproduce them here — a stale copy of an install guide is worse than no guide, because it will silently break your save. Follow the instructions on the mod's own page.
What the developer has said about mods: nothing
This matters more than it sounds. We read the official FAQ and the official press kit in full. Neither mentions mods, modding, or mod support anywhere.
That means there is no official modding API, no stated compatibility promise, and no guarantee that any mod will survive the next patch. The game is patching fast — v1.0.2 and v1.0.3 both shipped within two weeks of launch.
Before you install anything
- Back up your save first. This is the whole ballgame. Mods are third-party code running against a game that is actively being patched.
- Check the mod's last update date against the game version. A mod built for 1.0.0 may not survive 1.0.3.
- Do not report modded bugs to the developer. Their bug form is for the base game; modded reports waste a queue that produces real fixes.
- If the game started crashing after installing mods, remove them before working through the official troubleshooting steps — those assume an unmodded install.
Why this page has no mod rankings
We are not publishing a "top 10 mods" list or download counts yet. Nexus blocks automated reads, so we could not verify counts or rankings ourselves, and quoting numbers we have not checked is exactly the habit this site exists to avoid. When we can verify them, they go up — with the check date attached.
